previous post the different color schemes for West German Target CDs were examined. Today I am turning my attention to the different color schemes used on Japanese Target CDs.

In the table shown above, one can see that most of the Japanese Target CDs have either a silver paint or silver stock background with either red or black target squares and lettering. Except for the red / silver stock / black scheme, all color schemes have their target squares and lettering in the same color. It is also interesting to note that all labels, with the exception of Nonesuch and WEA, have used more than one color scheme on the different CDs they have released. As a matter of fact, Japanese pressed Target CDs released by WB can be found with 7 different color schemes.
Below three Japanese Target CDs are featured. The first was made for US and international markets while the two others were released for the domestic Japanese market.
